Making decisions can be incredibly stressful and this can be all the more acute when money is at stake. In every project “we step into the shoes” of our clients taking on their wants, needs and even worries. We can assist clients in administering the building contract between them and their builder, ensuring good communication, being realistic and encouraging collaborative working relationships between all parties involved.
As a general rule of thumb, we try to avoid risks, unexpected costs & delays during the latter stages of a project by undertaking as much research and drawing development as is feasible in the early project stages. However experience tells us that there will almost always be some type of “unknowns” to deal with. Having a good team behind you will give you the greatest chance of achieving the best result, including engineers, quantity surveyors and contractors too.
We believe that architects who deliver buildings will inherently give the client a better design service as they have a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t, even though every design is bespoke to the specific site and client. Our experience working on historic buildings, new buildings and refurbishment projects gives us a vast knowledge of potential risks but also opportunities. Over the years we have learned that design and responsible designers need to be adaptable to deal with the issues arising on site. We want our clients to feel safe in the knowledge that we are not only fighting their corner, but we are making it look and feel good too!
